How is your program different from other eating disorder programs?
La Ventana Eating Disorder Programs is unique because we provide excellent clinical care at a cost that is much lower than many eating disorder facilities. We accept most major insurance and offer a self pay discount. We also provide different levels of care based on individual need. For participants in our program who live outside of the Thousand Oaks area, we offer free housing. [Top]
What types of eating disorders do you treat?
We treat individuals suffering from anorexia, bulimia, binge eating and other disordered eating issues. To enter any of our programs, a client must be medically stable and have a physical exam prior to attending La Ventana. We do not admit acute clients. [Top]
What ages do you treat?
We treat both adolescents and adults. We have special groups for adolescent girls and we do have individual and group counseling available to men and adolescent boys who struggle with eating issues. [Top]
How long is your program?
Each client who enters a La Ventana Eating Disorder Program receives a thorough assessment and an individualized treatment plan. Based on individual need, a client may attend our Day Treatment Program and then continue to our Intensive Outpatient Program. Some clients need more support than others and some less. We help develop a continuity of care plan for each person. Average length of treatment can vary from 30 days to six months. [Top]
Do you offer family therapy?
Yes. We believe family therapy is an important part of treatment. We have multi family groups, psycho-education for families and family or couple's therapy. [Top]
